The Dementia Experience team enjoyed a gorgeous time together at the very lovely Woodchurch Vineyard, just as the heat wave arrived.
We are so grateful to Jenna, one of our volunteer directors, for sprinkling her gold dust that evening. Jenna is the founder of a new events company, Sync Inspire, & we were all so impressed by her effortless organisational skills & her imaginative approach to bringing people together. It was such a fab & fizzy atmosphere. We feel incredibly lucky to know one another, and be part of a such a dream team, that know how to work, and play!

We're all about action — especially important when dementia can bring so much that feels out of our control. That frustration is real… but it’s not where we choose to stay.
Instead, we focus on the things we can do. The small actions that bring connection, understanding, confidence and joy. The moments that make someone’s dementia experience feel a little lighter and brighter. As we mark Dementia Action Week next week- 19th–24th May, we’re encouraging everyone to Take Action in whatever way feels possible for you. The brave & brilliant Jess Williams ran her first 10kms in honour of her darling mum, who lives with vascular dementia. Jess hadn’t run in nearly 20 years but decided in January to try again despite ongoing back issues and uncertainty about her limits. After years of pain, she gradually rebuilt strength through weight training and is now able to run again!—something that feels like a huge, joyful achievement. A huge thanks to Jess & all her sponsors.
